Who is Colossus?

Sunday, 29 November, 2009

I know X-MEN but I am not a fan of Marvel comics so when people are talking about Colossus, I was like; “Colossus, who?!” The only colossus I know is:

Haha. ‘Nuff said. I have officemates here who are into magic and cosplay, too. And what interests me to approach them last time is the glossy outfit of their TL.

Note: Incomplete Outfit

Sir Ryan was sooo cool that I asked him to post for me. (Ssssshhh… Yeah, I know what you’ve noticed. Shut up perv, I thought he fixed it when he excused himself before this shot! HAHAHA!)

Colossus (Piotr Nikolaievitch Rasputin) is a fictional character, a superhero in the Marvel Comics universe. Created by writer Len Wein and illustrator Dave Cockrum, he first appeared in Giant-Size X-Men #1 (May 1975). A Russian mutant, the character is a member of the X-Men, and is by far the physically strongest X-Man. Able to transform into a strong metallic form, even without his powers he still cuts a physically imposing figure standing at 7’5″. Throughout the series he has been portrayed as a quiet, shy character, honest and innocent. He’s now a man without a family, having lost all whom he’s ever loved including his parents, brother, sister and even Kitty Pryde, his primary romantic interest. He has had a fairly consistent presence in X-Men-related comic books since his debut. A talented artist, he only reluctantly agrees to use his powers in combat, feeling it is his responsibility to use his abilities for the betterment of human and mutant-kind.

That “GUILTY” Feeling…

Saturday, 28 November, 2009

My day started right. I woke up at 12:05AM and greeted my boyfriend a “Happy 27th Monthsary” through text, prepped-up for work and went to the office. A very typical day at a call center when suddenly, someone pissed me off. I won’t delve into details anymore for my YM stat message said it all:
“Pag badtrip na ‘ko, pwede wag ng UMEPAL?! Obvious na inis na, nagtatanong pa!”

I tried my best to stay as calm as possible exhibiting one of our core values: Professionalism. I handled all of my calls with utmost proficiency. People here know how much dedication and passion I have for my job. My favorite line to an irate client: “I love my job”. Just the sound of it relieves stress. But just as I wanted to accommodate more calls within that day (to sustain the SLA, to cover abandoned posts, to help my teammates), my shift was about to end and I have to go home immediately. I can only do much. So I gathered my things and headed to the locker room. When I went back to my workstation, I felt guilty for leaving my TL and other two teammates. Being in a closing shift, they have to endure the queue. Without saying a word, I got my headset back and started answering calls. I was still upset that day. But for some reason, I felt like doing what “I love to do”. I did not file it as an overtime, by the way. As Sir Mon of NG Forum puts it: When you love what you’re doing, it’s like you’re not working.

It felt good afterwards. Ofcourse they’re grateful but that kind of act from me is not new to them. I’m the same responsible Lizzy they’ve met before. I wanted to end my day right so I was thinking of rewarding my self. I couldn’t have a date with BF due to schedule conflicts. Too bad, what a lovely day! I wish to munch Krispy Kreme donuts with him. I need hugs and kisses, real bad.

A sigh after another, I just went to Comic Odyssey at Cybermall and bought three booster packs. For P480, here’s what I’ve got: Luminarch Ascension | Iona, Shield of Emeria | Verdant Catacombs!!! In an instant, it lighten up my mood! And with so much excitement, I texted BF and schedule a date the next day!

Well… that “guilty” feeling is simply REWARDING…

• The Blog •

Finally, a more descriptive blog title! This was previously known as ‘SimplyMe: Simple from Head to Toe’ when I first set it up last January 19, 2008 with a Getting Started post.

Why pink? Well, it is not my favorite color but I am a Certified Pink Lover!

Where’s magic? I am referring to Magic: The Gathering TCG. I had a very memorable booster pack experience which got me hooked to this one resulting to my very First Deck.

Why Pinkville? *Shrug* IDK. It’s the first word that came into my mind after organizing a successful surprise party codenamed: Pinkville.

Yours Truly,

Also Known As:

I’m too lazy to share things about me right now. Just read through Pinkville to know me more. Afterall, this blog is a reflection of me… (Pinkville = Liz)

Hey hey, few more things I’d like to add: Liz is fickle-minded, outgoing, bitchy at times, jolly, spontaneous, witty, and sooo inlove! Boyfie and Liz are in an exciting relationship for more than two years now…

Witness the “The Magic of My Fingers” here:
“My mind and heart work in unison, and my fingers are the channels of their expressions…”

Random Quote:

I don`t give anyone reasons to hate me. They just create their own little drama of pure jealousy

MTG Reminders V.2

Wednesday, 18 November, 2009

This one is almost the same as the previous reminders only that this is more timely:

1. Always observe your foe’s reaction, especially where his eyes are going so you know what he’s looking and if he’s calculating and or if he has any answer/solution against your board.

2. Make sure to look at your hand more than twice whenever an opponent takes an action, or goes into one of his phases or before he begins one or ends one and before he has the spell resolved.

3. Keep on pressuring the opponent. Be aggressive. Don’t play defensively.

4. Always read what a card does and don’t hesitate to call a judge to ask for help or if you have further questions.

5. When you see a new card on the field which appears to do nothing, destory it. It means trouble.

6. For Boros, expect a baneslayer sideboard. Against Jund, Jund charm and or pyroclasm. gain as much life as you can. as for control, you need not ask anymore, you know what to do. Just attack aggressively and hope that you can kill him beore he sets up. Expect Rhox Warmonk’s on the board but it’s usually a sideboard against RED but be prepared just in case. Dont’ expect much from Vampire. You know how to handle one. You know how their steps go so you should find it easy to fight against one.

7. Count your cards, your SBs and ALWAYS remember which cards you’re removing and what not.

8. Review how protection from works and other game technicalities.

9. Enjoy and learn from each game and think in long terms.

Result: 2-2

1. JUND: 2-1 WIN
2. JUND: 1-2 LOSS
3. RW Control: 2-1 WIN
4. Turbo Mill: 0-2 LOSS

I’ll just post my deck list next time. Might need other’s help to tweak it.

MTG Reminders V.1

Tuesday, 17 November, 2009

My boyfriend is my first MTG opponent and mentor. I’m an Addict Magic Noob and I like the way he coaches me. *Sweet*

Here’s the first set of his reminders before my FNM right after Zendikar’s PR. Yeah, I already knew the basics…(but he knows I’m stubborn!)

1. Check your opponent’s behavior, especially when he’s drawing a card and looking at the field. Observe where he’s eyes lay so you’ll know if he has an answer to your cards or just bluffing.

2. 1 card most of the time means LAND.

3. Always look at what you have in your hand before making any decisions and before you allow a certain card to be put into play, into the graveyard, before damage resolution step, and AFTER damage resolution step and before declaring blockers, after declaring blockers, while spell is on the stack, and the like.

4. Be mindful of the the timing of your cards. Remember that a card will only benefit from a card in play is when it has entered the battlefield.

5. Be wary of your mulligan. Make sure it’s 123 more often than not and don’t play with creatures you can’t cast during the 1st and 2nd turn. Do not be stubborn.

6. Jund usually sideboards 2 thought hemo, 4 pyroclasm/jund charm or any set of mass removal. Be wary of day of judgement if you see a player playing plains for 2 consecutive turns and he’s not playing a creature. against Naya/Jund, you’ll be sure that you’ll have a problem against baneslayer and reliquary and it’s better to kill a baneslayer and reliquary ASAP

7. When in doubt about what’s happening in the battlefield, call a judge.

8. The meta would be Jund, Vampire, Naya/Bant or Naya/Jund. Be wary of seaside citadel. It means there’s a rhox warmonk. Make sure it doesn’t deal damage to prevent opponent from gaining life. Be careful of a 3rd turn gatekeeper of malakir. Choose which creature you’ll play as a sacrifice. Be wary of the bloodcghast landfall. Learn when to use your lightcaster for maximum effect, especially brave the elements. It’s a mirrorweave. It just doesn’t look like it but it is one.

If you’re an MTG player who happens to dropped by here, feel free to share your thoughts.

What’s Brewing?

Sunday, 15 November, 2009

Sad to say, NO MAGIC for today. This weekend is meant for my family here in Batangas. It’s really nice to be with them twice a month… And I think, I’m already over my grandma’s death. Homecoming is not that bothering anymore, I’m used to it.

As I fool around with our puppies downstairs, I suddenly miss Mogs and Wogs and our hamsters. Of course they’re properly secured at my boyfriend’s place but I wish to play with THEM… right now.

I’m getting tired with movie marathon, getting bored with TV shows and having headaches from my rewriting tasks. I wish I can puff a cigarette, or drink beer… right now.

I am not that lonely. I just have few sentiments from the past week.

I was not given a chance to be interviewed for the Senior Coordinator (SC) position. To make the matter worse, I was completely clueless about the selection process. What upset me more is that I did not receive any notification. Words just reached me through a friend who applied on the same post and unfortunately shared the same fate with me. Yes, I’m happy with my job, but I also want career growth… If not right now, sure, I am willing to wait.

Other petty stuff includes lethargic moments at work, insufficient time for magic and the like which all bring me back to the major frustration stated above. As for relationship, well, I believe it’s getting stronger each day. More challenges keep us in ecstatic love!

And with regard to my wishlist on my previous post, I have this feeling (in the tune of “I Got A Feeling” by Black Eyed Peas) that I’m just a step away! Hahaha. I’ll be turning those dreams into reality. LOL. Exaggeration intended for this Walletslayer. Gonna buy 3pcs of Baneslayer Angel for P5200. My only fear is that, the seller’s schedule is conflicting with mine. As in a hell lot! So goodluck, and if in case he finds a better deal, I won’t be surprised if he’ll back out. Hehe.

On the brighter side, I also found an offer of 1BSA for 1500. But considering my time and effort, it will definitely turn out to be as pricey as others, too. Anyway, enough of MTG stuff coz my mom will surely kill me if she finds out that I am overspending again! Haha.

That would be it for today. I have to jot down notes and draft keypoints for my next Girl Talk article: OFFICE ROMANCE! Whew… I love it! Hot ideas keep sizzling on my mind!

I got a feeling that tonight’s gonna be a good night
that tonight’s gonna be a good night
that tonight’s gonna be a good good night…

1-Year Stay @ Neutral Grounds

Saturday, 14 November, 2009

Yay! Just realized this a while ago while checking my profile for supposed-to-be binder updates: It’s my 1st Year Anniversary at Neutral Grounds Forums today! Wuhoo! (as a member, not spammer…) Yup! Of course I enjoyed my entire stay because I had fun and frustrations, gained friends and haters, learned tips and tricks and a lot more!

More power to MTG Board!

Where I am right now? LOL. On the right track…

What happened during “those” days…? Time to look back @

? Unlocking “Ganda ni Rae” Thread…?

? Celebrating My 4001st Post!?

To all the people who made my stay worthwhile, thanks a lot!

Hating Mold Shambler!

Saturday, 7 November, 2009

Jund keeps smashing my Soldiers. Grrr. Just Finished 2-2 this FNM:

1. Jund : 0-2 LOSS
2. Soldiers: 2-1 WIN
3. Goblins: 2-0 WIN
4. JUND: 1-2 LOSS

Oh, the last one? I hate it! Haha. What the hell is that? Jund Control?! LANDISCARDER = Landy + Discarder! Do you know how it feels like being DURESSed, followed by MINDROT, BLIGHTNING, MOLD SHAMBLER all in one game. Sorry, I am not good with MTG articles, I can’t provide a detailed report. Haha. Just venting out. 🙁

What a bully opponent! Kidding. ^_^

Gotta update more posts later. Zzzzz. Nap time!

Done with two versions of OCT-turbo, finally November is here! (which is definitely not a good start… T_T)

Yeah, right. I don’t have enough time to update PINKVILLE though I’d love to share lots of wonderful and dreadful happenings. If not for my scheduled posts, Bloguardian Hellsite: OVERCASHED has been long dead.

In one quick flash, let’s get it on!

00. URZA died last November 1, poor hamster. Boyfriend dropped the bomb while I was at Batangas. T_T
01. Todos Los Santos celebration was peaceful. Commemorating dead relatives and praying for them? Check!
02. Had a not-so-good shopping experience during the last few minutes before my trip back to Manila. I’ll get back to that formal dress. LOL. *wishful thinking*
03. Back to work. My new schedule posed threats to my FNM and weekend tourneys. 2AM – 11AM? Good job!
04. Ouch. This “girl thing” is still making me sick. My YM status message? “GY mode. 🙁 [mood swings + ficklemindedness = 1 week of liz]”!
05. Frustration #1: No more quality time with BF. The rest follows.
06. We’ve got new pets! A pair of Guine Pigs and two female hamsters for our males at home. They don’t have names yet. Suggestions, anyone?
07. An Odesk client set me as his “Favorite” and now I’m getting tons of assignments. I’m back to TIME MANAGEMENT 101.
08. At last, got pampered again. The Nail Loft rocks. I enjoyed their “Glamourize Me” package. Salon review will be posted soon!
09. As if the above thing wasn’t enough, I still bought KONAD nail art set. Whew. How much? 1X Baneslayer! Haha.
10. Last but not the least, they just made fun of me. Whatta kid! They love to hear me laugh, they like to see me smile, and most of all, they want to watch me cry. Fools. I thought I’ve graduated from those kindergarten days already. Haha. Yup, mixed emotions.
