I Want to Play MTG Again!

Saturday, 28 April, 2012

I wish I can play magic again! The last time I played Magic: The Gathering (MTG) was during Dark Ascension prerelease (PR). Pretty nostalgic for today is Avacyn Restored PR!

Avacyn Restored Prerelease

My boyfriend and I used to play together but we’re both busy right now. Not with Norwich dating of course! We’re working on plenty of writing jobs online. It’s fun because we don’t have immediate supervisor or management team unlike in call centers. πŸ™‚ We’re directly dealing with the client.

We’re hoping to play sealed next week at the release party. After that, I’ll probably start grinding! He’s still working on my Delver deck and we just need two more Phantasmal Image to complete it. I used to play UW Humans for the past months until Dark Ascension (DKA) but it’s now transitioning to Delver or probably Spirits to adjust with the meta.

Nail Art: Water Marble

Friday, 27 April, 2012

I’m thinking about using my Konad Nail Art stamping set once again. But I might need to buy new design plates to get started since I’ve used most of the designs I have here. Aside from the stamping nail art, I would like to try the water marble designs, too! I was inspired by this photo from Pinterest:

Nail Art - Blue Water Marble

Really captivating!

I’ve read some tutorial about how to do water marble. I think I can make it! The thing is, I need more China Glaze and OPI nail lacquers since I only have few of them. I am not sure if local nail polish can deliver the same result. If there’s a cheaper but good alternative, of course I’ll go for it!

And the Marathon Continues!

Wednesday, 25 April, 2012

For the past couple of years, me and my girlfriend have decided to spend most of our free time going for an anime marathon rather than some Macclesfield dating. We already gave up watching local programming since we find it often frustrating and irritating for various reasons. One of which is that most of the programs in local television is either a hard-core drama which involves the characters switching partners or protagonists which are unrealistically oppressed. Or programs with some storyline that is totally ripped-off from a random foreign movie or series. If not these kinds of local dramas, you get to watch Korean dramas dubbed in the local language. Now, I do not have anything against Korean dramas but then again, when you have enough drama in your life, you do not need to see more of it on television. Besides, the program portrays a different culture which will not be applicable in my lifestyle or probably anyone living a class C or D of life out there. But then again, we thought that the continuous development of such dramas stems from the reason that the majority of the people who watch local television can only comprehend such. And they sell.

That is why we prefer watching anime. Not only do you get valuable lessons from them but they have unique plots that you do not see in your local television. Ever. Furthermore, setting aside the exaggerated reactions from the characters, they behave more rationally than the live characters in local programming. And they do not have time being oppressed by some antagonist who is aiming to get the inheritance of some family treasure or whatnot. I am also not saying this to criticize the quality of the actors here locally. I think they are doing well with their profession so nothing much to say there but plot-wise? It just sucks big time.

Setting all that aside, we still have a couple of animes on our list which needs to be watched such as Fate Zero, Gosick, Slayers Try and some more. The truth is, I do not know how long it will take for us to watch these series but then again, it does not really matter since they are all fun to watch anyway.

The Pinker Mugu Mugu

Tuesday, 28 February, 2012

Few months ago, I made a promise to our kids (stuffed toys) that I’ll wash them all since they’re in dire need of special cleaning. The problem is, I have a very hectic online schedule so I don’t have enough time to clean them all at once. I just decided to handwash them one at a time each day I go to shower. Mugu Mugu went first!

Fresh look!

I bet she really enjoyed swimming. Mugu Mugu is cleaner and pinker!

Original look from when we first bought it her:

Fairy Tail Marathon!

Thursday, 23 February, 2012

My siblings are going crazy over Fairy Tail! I mean, they’re so addicted to that anime especially Leona who’s fond of streaming online just to get ahead of the TV episodes. Lol. While I was in Batangas last month, I’ve just seen one of its episode and I must say that it’s not bad at all. So I downloaded Fairy Tail anime and I’m currently downloading episodes 117 and 118. OMG! Such a long series, right?

My boyfriend and I just decided to watch it from the beginning and we’re still on episode 12. Long way to go! It must be Fairy Tail Marathon every weekend! My favorite character so far is Erza Scarlet. Though it seems that Lucy Heartfilia and Natsu Dragneel (plus Happy, the talking cat) are the main characters. Surely, Fairy Tail is a wizard’s guild full of idiots/ weird mages.

Erza Scarlet - Heavens Wheel Armor

Erza Scarlet in her "Heavens Wheel Armor"

Erza Scarlet (Fairy Tail’s strongest female mage)Β is an armored female wizard and I love her ex-quip magic. It works like Lucy’s keys. I’ll probably write more about Fairy Tail on my anime blog – Blueville Anime Heaven. Yup, Pinkville’s twin!

I’m planning to buy DVD-R this weekend so that I can burn the downloaded anime and movies. I’m so happy with my Fairy Tail copy! So good! We’re using VLC player to watch all sorts of video files. Fairy Tail’s in .mp4 and it plays great on my VLC. If you don’t have this application yet, you can get it online for free. Ok, here’s one: FREE VLC Media Player Download.

Pancake + Rain = Lovely Night

Monday, 20 February, 2012

It’s pretty humid and with a non-airconditioned room, getting a decent sleep at night is sometimes difficult. So, I wished for an evening rainfall. Later that day, it rained until evening, slightly cooling down the atmosphere. I was so happy about it! Staying at home on a Sunday felt so great! Not to mention that I and my boyfriend have spent some time watching anime and movies. To conclude the day, we had pancake for midnight snack…

Post-Valentine Pancake

My pancake and my love!

Love month will never end! Lol.

My Dark Ascension Prerelease Experience

Dark Ascension PR Passes

Dark Ascension PR Passes

Ok, so enough with the excitement and what not. My Dark Ascension prerelease didn’t turn out good. My boyfriend and I came late for the morning flight so we had our lunch before registering for the afternoon pods. We were at the venue before 12 noon but because there were so many players ahead of us, we have to wait for our turn. And that was around 3PM. I have to admit, I got bored while waiting.

As I received my 3 packs of Innistrad and 3 packs of Dark Ascension, I opened them right away and sorted the cards. Nothing that impressive until a friend of mine opened one of the Dark Ascension packs thinking that he has better luck than me. True enough, he opened a pack with double mythic! Thanks AP for the Mikaeus, the Unhallowed and Huntmaster of the Fells // Ravager of the Fells!

I was obsessed with the idea of building a deck around Mikaeus, the Unhallowed but then again, the BBB cc scared me off. Plus, my black cards weren’t enough. And I wanted to use Huntmaster of the Fells at the same time! Going for Jund? Nah. I ended up with Naya since I have good white creats and removal spells. Though it was fun building a deck and getting new cards, I was still disappointed at the end of the day. Just finished 1-3 and my only win was against my boyfriend. IL. Intentional Loss, Intense Love. ROTFL.
